Transfer of supported accommodation and other services

On 27 August 2015, FACS Secretary Michaels Coutts-Trotter sent an email to staff about the beginning of the transfer process for supported accommodation and other services to the non-government sector.

The Secretary announced that ADHC supported accommodation and other services will be the next to transfer to the non-government sector.

Here are some FAQs to provide you with some of the answers to the questions you may have about what the transfer will mean for you and your clients.

As the first step, NSW Government will to talk with providers about supported accommodation and other services to help decide the best way for the transfer to happen. Other services includes services for people with multiple conditions and complex support needs, such as the Community Justice Program and Specialist Supported Living.

This is just the start of the process, supported accommodation and other services won’t transfer until mid-2016 at the earliest. You will be given details about expected time frames as well as lots of information and support throughout the transfer process.
