Aboriginal Housing Office opportunities - April 2016

The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) currently has some internal recruitment opportunities. The great thing about these opportunities is that eligible long term temporary as well as ongoing staff can apply.

To be an eligible long term temporary employee you need to have been continuously employed for at least 12 months as at Monday 18 April 2016.

You can apply for roles at any grade and further information can be found in these FAQs.

Job advertisements are now on the FACS Job Board and will be open for two weeks, with applications due by 11.59pm on Wednesday 4 May.

These opportunities have come about as a result of major reforms in the AHO that has involved internal placement of existing eligible staff into roles in a new organisational structure. Some new roles are still vacant and the AHO are looking to find the right people for these remaining vacancies from within the other divisions of FACS.

After this internal process, any roles remaining vacant will be advertised externally. Short term temporary employees (less than 12 months service as at 18 April) will be able to participate during the external advertisement phase which will take place later this year.

For advice and training to prepare your application, the Ready and Confident e-learning resource is available. This is a 60 minute e-learning module that will help you prepare to apply for roles under the Government Sector Employment (GSE) Act 2013 and includes creating your documentation and preparing for the interview process.

ADHC Central Office First Preference roles - March 2016

Eligible ADHC Central Office employees had the opportunity to apply for around sixty ongoing roles in Phase 4 of the OneFACS program before external applicants are considered for these roles.

This is the OneFACS ADHC First Preference process.

Applications closed on Wednesday 9 March 2016. Candidates who applied for the policy, program, project and business support roles and have been shortlisted, will be contacted this week (week commencing 14 March) and invited to attend an interview.

Full details are available on the FACS intranet.

One FACS Phase 4 – external recruitment - March 2016

Even if every application was successful, there were not enough to fill all the OneFACS vacancies included in this process.

The remaining OneFACS roles will be advertised over the coming weeks on (formerly Jobs.NSW), Seek and other job sites.

You need to know two important things about this:

  1. If you have applied through the First Preference process, the external advertising won’t affect your application. The First Preference applicants will be assessed before any external applicants are considered.
  2. Once the roles are advertised externally, any FACS staff (including ADHC Central Office staff) can apply for these roles. And because they are publicly advertised you can apply for any role including promotional opportunities.

Most of the roles are ongoing (a small number are time limited) and the roles are based at either Ashfield or Liverpool. The roles cover a variety of functions including business and administrative support, policy, program and project roles and more specialist roles in finance, IT and business analysis.

The external recruitment is being managed by Randstad, an approved supplier to the NSW Government.

Full details are available on the FACS intranet.
